Bootin' Gluten

<div style="text-align: left;">
A friend of mine on Instagram (<a href="http://www.instagram.com/brittkett">@brittkett</a>) recently posted a picture reaching out to fellow Instagramers for tips on living gluten-free. As someone who also has a tiny human with a particular tummy, I thought this would be a helpful topic to discuss.&nbsp;</div>

In the beginning (this was around 3 years ago), the idea of going on a gluten-free diet was daunting. <u>What about pizza Fridays right?1?</u> Right!? Well, it was no picnic. Locally, many of the options were frozen (not hating on all frozen gluten-free goodies, but a girl wants something a little fresher), or just simply weren't very good.&nbsp;</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Today companies are really catching onto this dietary need, and are churning out products that are suitable for a gluten-free diet, and are delicious! Gluten-free doesn't even have to mean treat free anymore, with the wide variety of cookies, cakes, and mixes that are readily available, anyone can easily swap out their party cupcakes with a gluten-free alternative.&nbsp;</div>

Some of my favourite everyday alternatives are from Canadian <i>All But Gluten</i>. Their bread has always been moist and delicious, and their bite size brownies are a yummy treat. <i>Betty Crocker</i>'s gluten-free chocolate cake mix is the best! The texture kind of reminds me of Swiss rolls/logs, and I honestly prefer it over the traditional cake mix. I definitely recommend it. <i>Catelli</i> has great gluten-free pasta that looks like "regular" pasta for picky eaters which is a bonus. Sometimes we even swap out pasta altogether for spaghetti squash. Yum!<br />

These days the list of available options is long. Many grocers have special sections for people with dietary restrictions that offer a wide variety of options. Also! Many pizza chains have a gluten-free crust option. Yes!! It goes to show it never hurts to ask.<br />
<br />
These days we stray from the gluten-free path from time to time, but many gluten-free goodies have become delectable household staples. </div>

<b>TIPS</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i>Stay Positive</i> <span style="color: #ec3596;">♡ </span>I wouldn't have thought of going gluten-free on my own, but if your doctor recommends this to alleviate any stomach problems, or allergies, rest assured you won't have to miss out on the tasty fun.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i>Don't give up!</i> <span style="color: #ec3596;">♡</span> If you can't seem to find any gluten-free products in your local grocery store, make sure to ask someone who works there for directions. Anytime I've been unable to find the gluten-free section in any of my local grocers in the past, after asking for assistance, I'm always directed to a totally obscure aisle where no one would think to look. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i>Make sure you read labels! </i><span style="color: #ec3596;">♡ </span>Many times I'll get excited about a rice cereal, or some kind of peanut free product, only to read the label and be disappointed by the "May Contain"s.<br />
<br />
<br />
Have any of you had to deal will this or any other dietary restrictions? Have any tips or products to share? I'd love to hear them.<br />
