It's Tattoo Tuesday! These posts will feature fantastic people, tattoos, and artists. In future, I'd love to have people contact me so I can do little interview and highlight some of the awesome work that they have done, or have gotten done. It should be so much fun! The first installment will be about me! ・゚✧

I've been obsessed with tattoos from an early age. My Mom, and Dad likely spurred this on, both having tattoos of their own. My Dad had an awesome unicorn on the outside of his bicep (from the 70s/80s), and my Mom has a few of her own cool pieces.

I remember when I was 14 I had this grandiose idea that as soon as I turned 16 I was going to convince one of the adults in my life to sign off on me getting my first tattoo. I was addicted before I had even began! *giggles* I didn't end up getting my first tattoo until my 18th birthday, and I am sure that it was for the best. My Mom took me to get an adorable skull cupcake of my own design at one of the local tattoo joints, and I was pleased as punch. The next week, I got another. And the rest is history.
MY TIPS FOR YOU

Don't go to just any ol' artist because the wait is short. ♡ If you have an artist whose work you really love, it's always worth the wait for an appointment. Besides, if your idea is so awesome, surely you'll still love it a few weeks/months down the road.

Make sure you trust your artist. ♡ When someone is pounding ink into your flesh, the last thing you want to worry about is cleanliness, or if the tattoo is going to turn out okay.

If you aren't totally happy with the design, don't be afraid to discuss with your artist. ♡ Though I still love my first tattoo, it didn't turn out how I had hoped it would, and at the tender age of 18, even with my Mom there, I was will too shy to say anything to a gruff old man. Now that I'm older, more particular, and see the same awesome artist pretty regularly, I'm definitely far from shy.

Tattoos are not cheap. ♡ If you're serious about your ink, often
there is quite a lot of budgeting involved, not to mention the faint
hope that you'll get cash for the holidays from some dear distant
relative. I've experienced dry spells where I've gone years without
getting any new ink, but planning for a new tattoo by putting money off to the side is always a good idea.

Talk to your artist about touch ups ♡ Sometimes, no matter how well you might try to take care of your tattoos, they may end up needing some touching up. From my experience, if it's the same tattoo artist, they may even consider doing it for free (depending on a variety of factors, of course). So, if you feel like your tattoos need a little freshening up, don't be afraid to ask what your artist can do to help.

Perhaps I'll share more, or better pics of my own tattoos in the future, but otherwise I hope you've enjoyed the post. If you're interested in being featured here, that would be lovely! Contact me!
